Space Odyssey Notes

Hal won't allow dave back into the pod because he knows he wants to disconnect him. He went through the emergency entrance. Dave says he feels better and tries to trick him into not shutting him down. He goes In his brain. Hal keeps saying his mind is going and that he is scared while Dave is shutting him down, even though he is incapable of having feelings. Casting is important - chose dave because of his eyes At the beginning of the movie, two tribes of monkeys were fighting over a pond of water. Even though they have the same enemies, such as the tigers and other animals, they still only worry for themselves. This is also shown with Dr. Heywood. The Russians are the enemies, but they are still not willing to share the information they have even though both sides are fighting against the same people. These people were being compared to the apes presented first.  On the ship, there is a technological crew member who is in charge of the entire ship. Hal is the brain of the ship and

Love, Death and Robots

This series shines a light on how technology has and will continue to take over our world, quite literally. The first clip we watched was called "Three Robots". They were placed in a world where humans didn't exist, and they were experiencing human things for the first time. They referred to food as ""fusion batteries" and a basketball as an "entertainment sphere". They didn't know what a cat was and thought it was going to explode on them. They made fun of humans and thought they were better. Humans were not supposed to last forever, and the robots made sure of that by taking over.  Even though robots seem so helpful, like the waitress robot in "Three Robots: Exit Strategies" they can also be harmful and have defects, just like humans do. In the "automated customer service" the vacubot was a high-tech vacuum cleaner for the house, who later turned on the owner of the house and went after her and her dog. When she tried to

Zima Blue

Zima Blue was a cartoon about feeling belonging and appreciating the simple things in life. The blue squares and other shapes he presented in his paintings represented his old self. He started as just an electronic pool cleaner who cleaned Zima blue tiles and later became a bigger and improved version of himself who he didn't even like. He was very powerful and even had a lot of human qualities. He missed being a simple blue tile pool cleaner and wanted to go "back home". "The search for truth was finished at last."  This cartoon represented a different artist named Yves Klein Blue. He also included blue this shade of blue in his pieces, and later made that his entire art, just like the cartoon. His pieces are so special because of how abstract they are. They make you think and have a message behind each piece. He believed this color could change emotion, and he had a mission to show it. This blue color was believed to represent spirituality. His art was alive,

Metropolis

The movie Metropolis is a silent movie providing an insight into how life was after World War One. It shows the division between the working class and the higher class. The working class is trapped underground working extremely hard in order to make the city great and up and running. This film was produced in the the1920s, which was when there were a lot of diversity problems and the working class worked very hard to fix the city for Fredersen, who was in charge of the City. They were mostly traumatized germans, who were working to reboot the economy. Most of the higher class was unaware of what was keeping their city running. A woman Maria came to their beautiful garden and showed the higher class who the poor working class was and how they looked. Freder, who is Fredersen's son felt bad for them and wanted to switch positions with them. He believed it was unfair for a group of people to be locked up underground and just work just so they, the rich, can live a happy life. He got m
